After an accident with a deer southwest of Cook, an ATV driver was taken to a hospital in Duluth.
At 4:45 p.m., the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office said they were called to Ralph Road in the Alango Township for a report of an ATV crash.
When the team got there, they saw that the only person on the ATV wasn’t wearing a helmet.
A deer ran into the road while the ATV was going about 30 mph on Ralph Road, according to people who saw the crash.
The driver was thrown off the ATV and into the middle of the road when it hit the deer and then flipped over.
The driver was visiting the area, and he or she was taken to a hospital in Duluth because they thought the driver might have internal injuries.
We won’t say the driver’s name until their family is told.
